February 3, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

Present were Council members, Bill Puthoff, John Ranz, Jeff Albrinck, Police Chief Neil Korte, Fire Chief Mike Hauck, and Recreation Director David Nichols.  Also in attendance were Chief Financial Officer, Cynthia Caracci, and Assistant to the Mayor; David Elmer.

Mr. Nichols requested that the committee consider revisiting the social media policies.  The Public Records requirements add a unique twist to any standard social media policy.  The committee recommends that the departments work with Randan Shaw and Solicitor, Tim Burke, for a new policy and procedure.
Police
Chief Korte has informed us of his intent to donate $500.00 to Crime Stoppers from the Law Enforcement Fund.
The Accreditation assessors will be in Evendale from March 22 to the 24th.  The public hearing is scheduled for Monday, March 23rd.

Fire Department
Chief Hauck reported that the brakes failed on Engine 40 while the unit was going down Mohler Hill.  Fortunately, they were able to make the turn eastbound onto Cooper Road to bring the unit to a stop without incident.  The unit is now with Sutphen for assessment and repair.
The third reading of the Fire Alarm Compliance Ordinance is currently on Tuesday’s agenda.  Further, it was clarified that the Fire Dept. will be issuing any citations for violations of the new policy.
The Hamilton County Fire Chiefs Mutual Aid Agreement was approved unanimously at the January meeting of the Fire Chiefs.
Chief Hauck also informed the committee that they are reviewing the potential of becoming an accredited Fire Dept.  He will provide council with more information as it becomes available.

Administration
Dave Elmer reported that the inspection on the Feibelman property was positive ( no hazards) and that with the due diligence phase is complete. It is expected that the village will close on the purchase of the property in early March.
Enable Injections is considering a move to Evendale and will be applying for tax abatements.
